All curls are not equal
No two people have the same exact curl pattern. In fact, no one person has the same exact curl pattern throughout their head. Therefore, product usage, application, and curl manipulation is not a one size fits all. Oil does not moisturize the hair. Water moisturizes the hair. Oil will help to maintain existing water in the hair by coating the cuticle reducing premature drying. Oil performs best when applied after a fresh shampoo. If you find that your curls are dry a shampoo and condition are best. Applying oil won’t help at all. In fact too much oil without frequent enough shampoos can be problematic over time. But that’s a topic for another day. Oil get’s a bad wrap in the world or curls.
