before you arrive
The Helix House experience actually starts before you ever set foot in the salon.
When you book for the first time, we ask you to come with your hair in its natural state — meaning washed, air dried, and product-free if possible. This allows your curl specialist to see exactly what your hair does on its own, without any product influence. It is the most honest look at your texture we can get, and it helps us make decisions that are actually tailored to you.

the consultation
Before anyone touches your hair, your curl specialist will look over your intake form before engaging in a formal consultation with you.
This is where the real work begins.
We will look at your texture, assess your porosity and density, and identify what your hair actually needs — not just what you think it needs, and not just what worked for someone else.
This assessment shapes everything that happens next. No two consultations look the same, because no two heads of hair are the same.

Which service you are receiving determines what comes next, so here is a quick breakdown of our signature offerings:
The Helix is our all-inclusive curly cut service and the most popular first visit for new guests. It includes a shampoo, the conditioning service of your choice, and curl definition — all built around a cut that is designed specifically for your curl pattern. If you have been wanting a defined curly shape, or you want to add or reduce volume, this is where to start.
The Haven is our maintenance service. It’s personalized and customizable based on what your curls need at that moment. Whether that is a trim, a treatment, or a combination of both, The Haven adapts to you. It is the service most of our returning Curlfriends come back to regularly.
The Hydra is our deep hydration treatment, performed with professional-grade steaming equipment and a personalized blend of treatments. If your curls are struggling with definition, excessive frizz, dryness, or damage from color or chemical services, The Hydra is the reset your hair has been asking for. We recommend it highly for anyone with dry or chemically treated hair for the first visit.
The Hue is our color transformation service, available with any of our curl specialists. If you have been wanting a color change that actually works with your curl pattern rather than against it, this is the place to have it done.
Throughout your service, your curl specialist will talk you through everything — what products they’re using, why they chose them for your specific texture, and how to recreate the results at home. Education is built into every single appointment. You will never leave wondering what just happened to your hair.
the finish
There is something about the moment your curls are fully defined and dry that feels a little like a reveal.
Before you leave, your curl specialist will walk you through your maintenance plan — how often to come back, what to do between appointments, and which products will support your results at home. You can purchase the same products used during your service directly from us, either in the salon or through our online shop, so you are never left trying to hunt down something that actually works.
We will also make sure you know how to book your next visit, because consistency is how healthy curls are built. One great appointment is a start. A relationship with your curl specialist is what transforms your hair over time.
